Well, it's a little over a week from Christmas and it's all about the holidays here at the Christensen home. The hustle and bustle of wrapping gifts, making goodies and CHOCOLATE. Yep, you got it..."Mini" or Misty we should say found some dark chocolate M & M's and lo and behold fell very ill . She vomited all day yesterday. Her heart raced, suffered tremors..perhaps even seizures it seemed and loss of balance after falling from my bed late last night twice. Finally at 1:30am and she still acted as though she could run a race from being jazzed on chocolate, I decided that it was serious enough after finding her locating the chocolate again and being caught red-handed...or "white pawed" in the Chocolate bag. I looked up the symptoms on the internet and read all about Dark Chocolate being the most toxic for dogs. I drove her to the urgent pet hospital in which they induced further vomiting, IV fluids and "charcoal". Misty is now on the mend and deliriously happy about her 3 day diet consisting of boiled chicken and rice. Well, we definately now paid full-price for this puppy, but she is worth every penny....it just better not be a penny more for awhile. ARGH!!! Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Oh my friend I am so sorry! I had no idea that chocolate was that dangerous. YOu are in our thoughts!
