Christmas letter 2008

Merry Christmas 2008
It’s good to see you’ve found us here! We are thankful for great friends and family such as yourselves. We’ve had a very busy year mostly beginning with Zachary turning 8 years old and being baptized and Shea graduating high school on the same day. It was a wonderful and busy day of events, but everything went without a hitch

Shea turned 18 this year, graduated and has been working full-time at the Blue and Orange store in the mall. It is especially busy during football season and now during the holidays as well as preparing for the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego next week with BSU vs TCU. Shea decided to work full-time rather than a semester of school before going on his mission in which all his papers are in and he should know where he is being sent within the next 2 weeks. He then plans to attend BYU-Idaho with a couple of his close friends upon his return in 2 years. In his spare time, Shea loves to go to the gym, lift weights and now that the mountains have snow-snowboard as often as his schedule allows.Dilan has started his Junior year at a brand new High School called Rocky Mountain. It’s a beautiful school and quite equipped with all the latest technologies. He is 17 now and time just flies. He is nearly as tall as Shea now as you can see in the photo. Dilan was working at a sporting goods store, however was laid off when times got slow. He currently is not working, so he has to find odd jobs around the house to earn his way to drive his truck for gas money. He enjoys being with his friends and playing online games on his X-box and snowboarding. He enjoys working on “Ol’ Blue” the truck when it needs attention.
Ashley is in the eighth grade this year and turned 14 in September. She keeps ever so busy with all her activities in school. She played both volleyball and the A team for basketball, on the competitive cheer squad, dance team, choir and takes piano. This past week ended basketball, so we’re able to check one of the activities off the list. Her competition cheer squad took 1st place in our area schools early February and they hope to match the title this next February. Since Ashley turned 14, she regularly attends church dances as often as she can and loves to be with her friends
Zachary turned 8 as earlier mentioned and in the 3rd grade. He absolutely loves school and his teacher. He is a super speller and reader and loves to impress by his smarts. Zachary amazes us with his talent in playing the piano. There isn’t a day go by that he doesn’t sit down and play his beautiful music for hours on end. His nickname is “Meistro”. He also loves to make paper airplanes and is entitled to his own ream of paper to do so. His creations are endless, however has caused a bit of a stir around the house with the planes everywhere…and of course he rarely lets us throw away…at least when he’s around! Zach played baseball this year in which mom was an assistant coach. We had a lot of fun and a great season as the Giants. He just finished up his first year of Y-Basketball which was a lot of fun for him.

Bret and Beverly plug along as parents and try to keep up with the constant activities surrounding this household of personalities and characters. Bret is still driving for USF Reddaway and Beverly working for oral surgeons in Boise. Thanks again for visiting and please be sure to let us know you stopped by, by signing our guestbook. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love, The Christensen Family ~Bret, Beverly, Shea, Dilan, Ashley, Zachary
